In the conduct of Samoa’s Bilateral Relations, there continues to be regular and effective interactive engagement in bilateral development Cooperation Policy Dialogues with development partners including Resident Missions and Multilateral Agencies to enhance mutual development cooperation initiatives, improve donor coordination, strengthen and build resilience in the partnership and ensure alignment of development assistance with Samoa’s national development framework (PDS) .
The Government of Samoa has proven successful in effectively mobilizing, managing and consolidating its work in conjunction with development partners to strengthen aid effectiveness and the inflow of resources to accelerate sustainable development and broaden opportunities for all, so that no one is left behind in the fulfilling of Government’s development aspirations for its people.
Senior officials talks and High level Consultations are conducted on an annual basis with the Governments of Australia, Japan and New Zealand where forward aid programming is discussed in greater detail. High level talks are conducted with the Government of the People’s Republic of China when and as the opportunity arises .
Donor Round table meetings are convened with Resident Diplomatic Missions likewise Multilateral Agencies based in Apia- for enhanced donor coordination and improve collaboration as partner governments, and for deeper cooperation and engagement aligned with our national policy frameworks, to better deliver on joint priorities and commitments.
